Queen’s Awards
We’re proud to have received The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade in 2004, 2009 and 2012. We were recognised for our continued growth and dedication to exporting British brands worldwide.
It is rare for a company to be granted this significant award once, however, Ramsden International has now received this accolade three times. The values set when winning these awards created the right path for us to continue with our success in exporting. We pride ourselves on being the industry experts in what we do, and we are continually pioneering a better way for international businesses to buy British groceries.
The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is the UK’s most prestigious award for business success and is highly recognised by our customers around the world.
The Grocer Gold Awards
On multiple occasions, our exporting achievements have been recognised by the UK industry publication The Grocer, including in 2021, when we were awarded the highly coveted Grocer Gold Award for Exporter of The Year. This is a nationally recognised competition judged by a panel of industry experts. We are also proud to have been shortlisted for the same award this year.
The Grocer want to break the mould, by creating a different kind of awards scheme; one that makes a truly positive statement about the magnificent work being done by companies in this fast-moving industry. With that in mind, the awards are focused on key business areas such as innovation and customer satisfaction - areas which we excel in.

Department for International Trade & Institute of Export
The support and assistance provided by the Department for International Trade (DIT) and the Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE & IT) has helped shape our business into the award-winning company it is today.
DIT (formerly UK Trade & Investment) provides support for exporters, building the global appetite for British goods and services. The organisation has helped us to succeed in the worldwide marketplace by bringing together policy, promotion and financial expertise to break down barriers to trade and investment.
IOE & IT is the UK’s only professional body representing International Trade. Established in 1935, the function represents and supports the interests of all those involved in importing, exporting and International Trade.
Membership of the IOE & IT gives our company access to a vast network of contacts and knowledge straight from the leading authority in exporting best practice.
Authorised Economic Operator Status (AEO-F)
We’re proud to be one of a small number of UK businesses to have achieved Full Authorised Economic Operator Status (AEO-F) - an internationally-recognised mark of quality, which certifies that our role within the international supply chain is secure, and that our customs controls and procedures are efficient and compliant.
A significant amount of work has taken place across the business to meet the stringent criteria that is required to achieve AEO-F status, which delivers a number of benefits for our business and customers. Companies with AEO-F status must meet certain standards, in relation to:
- Customs clearance process
- Shipping and logistics procedures
- Relationships with supply chain partners
- General site security
- Legal and safety regulations
- Financial stability
Being AEO-authorised puts us in the strongest position to deal with the on-going uncertainties around Brexit and provide our customers and suppliers with the assurance that we are safe, secure and compliant business partners.
